The new (as of 2007) headquarters of the Creative Artists Agency in Century City, designed by Gensler, is controversial, with detractors calling it “the Death Star,” but the building perfectly reflects the unapologetic glamor and ethos of the entertainment industry–it is definitely designed to be seen and talked about. The central atrium provides a glimpse of the towers behind the lower structure, framing them as a movie camera might. It is also, according to the architects, among the most energy efficent buildings in Los Angeles.
